President Joe Biden took to Twitter<\/a> to promote electric vehicles on Monday, aligning with his administration’s green energy efforts<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was seen<\/a> smiling in an EV with a mask hanging below his chin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOn my watch, the great American road trip is going to be fully electrified. And now, through a tax credit, you can get up to $7,500 on a new electric vehicle,\u201d Biden announced<\/a> next to an accompanying photo showing him smiling in a Hummer EV, with his mask under his chin and the passenger masked up for safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to TFLEV’s footage<\/a>, it appears that the Hummer EVs reportedly take several days to fully charge when using a standard wall outlet. The footage<\/a> showed a man starting to charge his vehicle through a standard outlet on a Sunday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The vehicle’s range increase<\/a> is one mile per hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite President Biden’s promotion of the tax credit<\/a>, the Hummer EV still has a starting price of $87,000<\/a> and a driving range of 329 miles<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, it boasts<\/a> an advanced 800-volt electrical architecture and a fast-charging capability of 350 kilowatts, allowing for an additional 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For those without access to DC fast charging stations, the vehicle can also be charged through regular public terminals or at home using a provided adapter, albeit at a slower charging speed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the benefits of electric vehicles<\/a>, it still takes a full day to fully charge the vehicle using a 240-volt charger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Driving 100 miles in a gas-powered vehicle is more cost-effective<\/a> than an electric vehicle, costing $11.29 compared to $11.60 due to the high cost of electricity. The report also stated that for those who use charging stations, the average cost for 100 miles jumps to $14.40.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Biden’s push for electric vehicles<\/a> comes just after a meeting with Tesla’s Elon Musk at the White House, where they discussed ways to increase electrification and how the infrastructure and inflation reduction acts can help advance electric vehicles.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
