Prior to this, reports indicated that meat accounted for a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/environment\/2021\/sep\/13\/meat-greenhouses-gases-food-production-study\">staggering 60%<\/a>&nbsp;of all greenhouse gas emissions from food production. There was also&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucdavis.edu\/food\/news\/making-cattle-more-sustainable\">growing concern<\/a>&nbsp;about the release of methane by cows, which was believed to harm the ozone layer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/euobserver.com\/green-economy\/145617#:~:text=Tackling%20food%20waste%20and%20reducing,published%20Thursday%20(8%20August).\">United Nations<\/a>&nbsp;climate change&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ipcc.ch\/site\/assets\/uploads\/2019\/08\/4.-SPM_Approved_Microsite_FINAL.pdf\">report<\/a>&nbsp;is advocating for a reduction in meat consumption, and there is a growing movement to encourage individuals to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hsph.harvard.edu\/nutritionsource\/elevate-your-plate\/a-little-less-red-meat\/\">eat less red meat<\/a>. Numerous campaigns are being launched to convince people that eating meat will&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.futurelearn.com\/info\/blog\/eating-meat-bad-for-environment#:~:text=Meat%20consumption%20is%20responsible%20for,The%20destruction%\">destroy the planet<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not long ago, the Netherlands Supreme Court&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/environment\/2021\/sep\/09\/netherlands-proposes-radical-plans-to-cut-livestock-numbers-by-almost-a-third\">issued a ruling<\/a>&nbsp;mandating farmers to abide by a European Union law aimed at reducing nitrogen levels in vulnerable regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result, farmers will have to reduce their livestock population by a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/environment\/2021\/sep\/09\/netherlands-proposes-radical-plans-to-cut-livestock-numbers-by-almost-a-third\">staggering 30%<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The United States has experienced&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehouseofdavid.org\/prophetic-map\/2022\/5\/3\/25-mysterious-fires-at-food-processing-plants-across-us-end-of-days-food-shortage\">numerous accidents<\/a>&nbsp;at food processing plants resulting in the deaths of thousands of cattle and other farm animals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This news comes as many environmental activists have urged countries to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.news18.com\/news\/buzz\/bill-gates-wants-you-to-switch-to-synthetic-meat-to-save-the-environment-but-what-is-it-3442628.html\">transition to 100% synthetic beef<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.news18.com\/news\/buzz\/bill-gates-wants-you-to-switch-to-synthetic-meat-to-save-the-environment-but-what-is-it-3442628.html\">trend<\/a>&nbsp;towards environmentally conscious food choices continues to grow, it is highly probable that the traditional meat industry will eventually be replaced by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenqueen.com.hk\/10-reasons-why-cultivated-meat-is-the-future-of-protein-the-case-for-lab-grown\/\">lab-grown, synthetic meat<\/a>.
