Montana Governor Greg Gianforte reports<\/a> that he was recently told about a reported explosion that happened in Billings, Montana, tonight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The governor assures<\/a> that they are “monitoring the situation.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Friday night, an explosion was reported<\/a> in the sky over Billings, Montana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Footage<\/a> captures a plume of smoke in the area where the balloon was last seen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A video<\/a> posted to Twitter<\/a> tonight shows a jet flying by, followed by a massive explosion and a trail of white smoke that stayed in the sky long after the jet was gone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other witnesses<\/a> have stepped up to corroborate the video<\/a>, saying that something seems to have been shot out of the sky, though it remains unknown exactly who did this and why.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is still uncertain whether the explosion caught in the video is related to the Chinese spy balloon<\/a> reportedly spotted flying over Billings, Montana, and currently being tracked by the Pentagon<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is reported that U.S. defense officials<\/a> say that the balloon has not exploded<\/a> and was not struck down by the U.S. military, though that may remain to be seen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Pentagon has recently confirmed<\/a> that there has been a second Chinese surveillance balloon<\/a> spotted flying over Latin America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
