Andrew Tate, a controversial media personality, appeared to predict his own arrest in a resurfaced interview<\/a> in which he stated that he would be “arrested or killed.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This prediction came true on December 29th, when Tate, 36, was arrested on human trafficking and rape charges, according to CNN<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During a podcast appearance<\/a>, Tate stated, “I would never, ever kill myself. I truly believe they are going to come and try to kill me in the long run. They’ve tried to shut me up, and I won’t shut up. They’re going to either try and put me in jail or they’re going to kill me. I would never kill myself under any circumstances, and the reason I say this is that people ask me, ‘What can they put you in jail for?’ And I say, ‘How ignorant are you? It is your ignorance to believe they need a reason.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Friday, internet personality Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan were ordered to be detained for a month in Romania as authorities investigate criminal claims leveled against the two of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Romanian Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism<\/a> (DIICOT) served search warrants at five homes and detained four suspects, two British and two Romanian, as part of the investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A court in Bucharest later granted DIICOT’s request to hold the suspects<\/a> for an additional 30 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andrew and Tristan’s lawyer, Eugen Vidineac, confirmed their detention but did not comment on the allegations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DIICOT alleges that the suspects formed a criminal group that operated in Romania, Britain, and the United States and trafficked victims for the purpose of sexual exploitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The group is accused of misleading<\/a> victims “into believing they would enter into a marriage or cohabitation relationship” before transporting them to Romania and subjecting them to physical violence and coercion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Authorities also claim that one of the suspects raped a victim on two occasions in March 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At least six victims<\/a> are believed to have been sexually exploited by the group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andrew Tate, a former professional kickboxer, is known for his controversial views<\/a> on male dominance, female submission, and wealth, and has previously advocated violence against women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was banned from major social media platforms until Elon Musk reinstated<\/a> his Twitter account after taking control of the company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andrew gained notoriety earlier this year when his TikTok account<\/a>, which has since been removed, amassed around 11.6 billion views.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He recently made headlines<\/a> for his Twitter exchange with Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite speculation that authorities were alerted to Andrew’s presence in Romania through a pizza box seen in a photo that he posted during the altercation with Thunberg, a spokesperson<\/a> for DIICOT stated that the pizza boxes were not a factor in the detentions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
